Hello out there. I did not find this question in the old or new forum, so I place mine. PDFCreator is very powerful but bound to Windows. While Windows is the main OS in offices where you find most users for creating PDF files, it could address even more people if it was available in C sourcecode to be portable to other platforms. Are there any plans on doing so?

Hello,

there are no plans at the moment, as many aspects of the things PDFCreator does are very specific to Windows and so nearly the whole application would have to be rewritten. There is also good PDF integration on many other OSes (linux, MacOS etc).

regards,
Philip

For more complex variants, use a Visual Studio .NET solution—this solution makes it possible to create and manage multiple projects. The next couple of sections in this document focus on porting dynamic and static library project variants from Windows to UNIX.
