Generated pdf-files are very large

Submitted by Chris Bender on Wed, 02/01/2012 - 19:17

I use version 1.2.3.

Creating a pdf-file out of three doc-files and one pdf-file the filesize of the generated file is about 13 MB. OS is WinXP Pro SP 3, AdobeReader X.

On an other system I use version 1.0.2 of pdf-creator and an older version of AdobeReader, OS is XP Pro, too. The filesize of the generated pdf is only about 6 MB, using the same four files as source. Settings in pdf-creator are all the same.

I honestly don't know what is going on, but ever since in installed this program I have barely been able to print ONE document in thel ast few days from my real printer.  It has just stopped working.  I believe the spooler is "stopping" but even if i start it up again, through cmd.exe  as administrator it still just turns of moments later!  I do not know what to do but I really need my printer working again.

PDFCreator printer error

Submitted by redred_11 on Sat, 01/28/2012 - 00:58

I've used this program for years without any problem but for some reason I keep getting an error message when I am trying to create a PDF.  I am trying to convert a Word document, which has always been easy.  I just keep getting "Error - Printing" under the "Status" column in the PDF Printer window.

I tried unistalling and installing but it hasn't helped.  Any ideas?  (I should note that I am not very skilled with things of this nature so please be kind in replies.)

Thanks!

PDFCreator not running after logging out

Submitted by Genki on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 10:51

Hi,

I've installed PDF Creator onto a Windows 2008 server 64bit. Configured a shared PDF Creator printer for clients PC usage.

The problem I've encounter is the PDF Creator will not be running if there's no user logging into the server.  If there's a administrator logging onto the server, the clients can print documents to PDF without any problems.

Is there a way to resolve this?

Using Windows XP-sp3 and suddenly getting Error 75 when printing to PDF.  Cannot clear print spool - appears to be in a loop.  What could be causing this?

Thanks!!

PDFcreator conflicts with FlippingBook

Submitted by LittleBit on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 19:11

FlippingBook Publisher (FBP; www.flippingbook.com) is an application that converts PDF into flashy webpages.

After installing PDFcreator, when I print from a Windows-program, like Powerpoint and select PDFcreate as printer,

FBP starts and tries to import the PDF data.

Perhaps you think: that is a problem of FBP and NOT PDFcreator.

Well, when I use CutePDF or Win2PDF I have no conflicts with FBP.

So there is some strange specific conflict between FBP and PDFcreator.

Any suggestions ?

Insert File Name Programmagically

Submitted by creacontech on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 17:35

I'm using PDF Creator in an application that is operated by remote users using Remote Desktop Services (RDS) in Windows Server 2008 R2.  The PDF, which the user generates as a report via my application, needs to be saved on the remote users shared location, and is subject to change.  I can't use a static file name and then copy the resulting file via my application because the user may generate several of the files and if they have the same name, they'd overwrite each other.  I tried using a token, but can't find one that my application could subseque
